Percent

Feb 2026

Decide first. Spend what's left.

I've listened to Jim Rohn's talk on financial independence more than 50 times. One line stuck:

Poor mindset — spend first, invest what's left.
Rich mindset — invest first, spend what's left.

It's not about how much you earn. It's about the order you allocate in.

For years I've split my income into clear percentages: investments, savings, learning, expenses. Not perfectly every month — but with intention. Percent is the app I built to make that habit stick.

Enter your income. Set your percentages. The app allocates automatically and shows where your money actually went over time.

The problem

Most budgeting apps track spending after the fact.

By then, the money is already gone.

  • People spend first and hope something's left to save
  • Categories drift because nothing was decided upfront
  • There's no fixed philosophy — just guilt at month-end
  • You earn more but still don't know where it went

Percent flips the sequence: decide the split first, then live inside it.

What it does

  • Percentage-based income allocation — investments, savings, learning, expenses
  • Automatic splits when you log monthly income
  • History and simple analytics to see patterns over time
  • A system built around a money philosophy, not just expense tags
